success for Team Worcestershire says Karen Lumley
On July 28th the Worcestershire Primary Care Trust issued a press statement saying that they had " Found an Exciting Solution to Make Radiotherapy Service Available in Worcester and Hereford".
Cancer patients in Herefordshire and Worcestershire will be able to access life-saving treatment nearer to home following a unanimous decision to agree a preferred option to set up radiotherapy centres in both Worcester and Hereford.
"I am delighted for the people of Redditch" said Karen. "This will now mean that they can be treated in Worcester instead of having to travel to the Walsgrave in Coventry. This is a big step forward and now the people of Redditch will be able to access radiotherapy here in our own county"
"As you will know Team Worcestershire (comprising Julie Kirkbride MP for Bromsgrove, Peter Luff MP for Mid Worcestershire and PPCs Karen Lumley, Redditch, Harriett Baldwin, West Worcestershire, Mark Garnier, Wyre Forest and Robin Walker, Worcester) have been campaigning for some time for this facility to be located in Worcester and their efforts have been successful."
